January 2014 - Andrew Copp tallied five assists in five games with the USA World Junior team earlier this month. Unforunately, they failed to make it past the quarterfinals, losing a 5-3 decision to Russia. Copp played in all types of situations and provided a steady all-around game to the team. -Kevin Won

December 2013 - Andrew Copp was an overage draft pick of the Winnipeg Jets in 2013 with quite a unique path of development. Starting out with the US-NTDP program as an extra forward, he saw limited ice time in the games he played in since he was also playing high school football. Injuries prevented him from playing the full season in both sports. The following year he went to Michigan and after a lethargic first half, he put up 21 points in 24 games and forced himself up to the top line. He is now an assistant captain for Michigan and currently has 14 points in 14 games. He was recently invited to the USA World Junior Evaluation Camp in August and will represent them at the World Juniors at the end of December. His leadership skills and goal scoring ability were two reasons Team USA bench boss Don Lucia named his as one of two alternate captains. Copp is a gritty forward with good strength, skating and faceoff ability. For his second year focusing on hockey, his development has just begun. Look for him to turn into a potential third line two-way forward who can contribute to the score sheet. Kevin Won
