Observations: February 2013 – Rylan Schwartz, typically over shadowed by his younger brother Jaden Schwartz, Colorado College was concerned he would lose his scoring ability when brother Jaden signed with STL. Schwartz easily blew those worries away and even excelled on his own. Not only did he show The Colorado College Tigers that he had independent scoring ability, Schwartz leads the Tigers with 34 points in 27 games played. Schwartz has a knack for getting in front of the net and being in the right place at the right time, combined with his quick and accurate shot, it’s easy to see why Schwartz has been one of the top three scorers for the Tigers over the last four years. Although defense and size were a concern early on at the NCAA level , Schwartz has managed to adjust his game to the bigger NCAA and score early and often, while maintaining a positive plus - minus for the majority of his collegiate career. Schwartz might be undrafted but he won’t be unsigned for long. With his accurate shot, physical play and prolific scoring, we could see this center on the ice in one to two years.
