Observations:
April 2013 - The Boston Bruins signed London Knights' forward Seth Griffith to an entry-level contract (three years). Griffith has recently returned from injury and has gradually eased himself back into production, registering two goals and six points through his first nine playoff games. Look for Griffith to gain momentum as his team faces off against a talented Plymouth Whalers team in the OHL Western Conference finals. Brendan Ross
March 2013 - Griffith remains sidelined with a broken injury but should return to action soon. Griffith finished the regular season with 33 goals and 81 points in just 54 games, which was good enough for 11th in OHL scoring. In the OHL Western Conference Poll, Griffith placed high in several categories including: Most Dangerous in Goal Area (2nd), Best Shot (2nd) and Best Shootout Shooter (3rd). Brendan Ross
September, 2012 – Seth Griffith has been named the OHL Player of the Week to open the season after posting 5 goals, 6 points, 6 penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating through two games. Look for Seth Griffith to challenge for the OHL scoring title in 2012-13.
September, 2012 – Passed over in his first eligible draft year, Seth Griffith made scouts notice his offensive creativity after posting 85 points to comfortably lead the London Knights in scoring. Despite being passed over, Griffith received an invite to the Tampa Bay Lightning’s 2011 camp but Boston snatched up Seth Griffith in the 5th round at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft after taking a liking to his soft hands, elite vision and strong playmaking abilities – all traits he honed from his lacrosse days in Wallaceburg. Griffith is considered small but his above-average hockey sense and elusive puck-handling should compensate for any deficiencies in size.
Fantasy Outlook: B+ Griffith is a responsible player with underrated upside and has the potential to become a top-six player, with good powerplay potential.
