Observations:
March 2013-- Wagner is having a successful rookie season with the Norfolk Admirals. He's playing a solid two-way game as evident by his positive rating. He still plays a physical game as he is just shy of a penalty minute per game. He will still need some seasoning in the AHL for 2 years minimum before having a true shot at playing for the Ducks, but he's on the right track. Tim Graveline August 2012 – Chris Wagner has enjoyed a meteoric rise from playing in the Eastern Junior Hockey League in 2010 to being selected in the 5th round of the NHL Draft to signing a professional contract last spring. Wagner played his college hockey in the ECAC at Colgate, where he amassed 34 assists and 51 points in his sophomore, and final season. He also led the team with 69 penalty minutes, showing a lot of grit to go with his playmaking skill. Wagner is penciled in at Norfolk, but a stint in the ECHL to adjust to the pro game wouldn’t be a shock.
Wagner will need a few years in the minors to develop. Intriguing prospect, but a long shot.
