Observations:

February 2014 - He has fairly evenly split his time between Utica and Vancouver this season. He may actually be doing better in Vancouver where he has out-Corsi'd all of the Canucks fourth liners. In Utica he has a platy three points in 19 games. It looks like the future is in the bottom six for this Union grad. Austin Wallace

September 2013 - Jeremy Welsh has been traded to Vancouver along with Zac Dalpe in exchange for a fourth rounder and forward Kellan Tochkin. Welsh might not see much playing time in Vancouver, but he wasn't seeing any in Carolina either. He has good size and can add some secondary scoring. Austin Wallace

March 2013 – He has continued at a similar pace as at the start of the season, currently at 22 points in 59 games. He has seen a call up due to injuries, but was limited to minor minutes and the press box. The Canes really like his size. He needs to work on chipping in more consistently and should be more developed after an extended stay in the NCAA. Jason Banks

November 2012 – Welsh signed a full two-year contact in the summer. He has struggled with only six points in 17 games for the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. Jason Banks

August 2012 – Welsh was barely noticed his first two seasons at Union, then really broke out in his junior season, scoring 27 goals in 40 games. The large pivot showed off a powerful, accurate shot and a consistent, determined effort that caught the attention of NHL scouts. Welsh signed with Carolina after leading Union to the Frozen Four and the Hurricanes dressed him for a game to give the 24-year-old a taste. He has a good chance to crack the Carolina lineup this fall. Rich Dillon

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Welsh won’t ever content for the Art Ross Trophy, but he could be a useful bottom-six scorer.
