Observations:
Travis has had a tough rookie year with the Worcester Sharks. He has 6 points in 31 games so far and a minus -10 to go along with those poor totals. He needs more time to work on his overall game and could make the jump in about 2 to 3 seasons from now. Tim Graveline
July, 2012 – Oleksuk finished an otherwise decent college career at Minnesota-Duluth with a very good senior year. Oleksuk benefitted from talented line mates and success on the power play (nine of his 21 goals came with the man advantage), and finished with 53 points in 41 games. Not that Oleksuk is without talent- he sees the ice well and has a knack for finding open teammates. Not overly big, he isn’t shy about contact and will pay a price to make a play. He has a chance to move up the Shark’s rather thin forward depth chart this fall.
Not outstanding in any one aspect of the game, projects as a bottom six NHLer.
