Observations:

January, 2013 - Pitlick will miss the remainder of the season after tearing ligaments in his knee. Pitlick had just one goal in 32 games for Oklahoma City after posting 23 points in 63 games in 2011-12. Pitlick projects as a checking unit/energy guy when he reaches Edmonton. Rich Dillon

July, 2012 – Tyler Pitlick has the size and skill set to be considered a safe bet to one day wear an NHL jersey.  In his only season in the WHL, he potted 62 points in 56 games for Medicine Hat before turning pro.  In the AHL, he had 23 points in 62 games as a rookie in a defensive role.  While Pitlick thrives in such a role, the junior numbers show that there may be an upside for greater things.  Once he fills out he will be north of 200 pounds and with his ability to play a physical game could turn into a very nice complimentary scoring line player.  Plus, if he finds a way to climb the depth chart as a centerman in Edmonton, he could be flanked by some superstar wingers.

Fantasy Outlook: C+

Modest upside, but a safe bet to be in the NHL one day.  Could be a second/third line tweener.
