Caleb Herbert, C/RW

Shoots: R

February 2014 - Herbert is in his third season for Minnesota-Duluth and has totaled 84 points in 106 games, which is solid, but not jaw dropping. The issue is his totals have stayed relatively stagnant: 0.8 points-per-game as a freshman, then .71 p.p.g, then .86 p.p.g this season. He is still without an NHL contract and may very well stick with the College route for his senior year. Nathan Kanter

June 2012 – As a freshman for the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs, the speedy Herbert tallied an impressive 33 points in 41 games for one of the top teams in the country. He is an outstanding skater who also possesses excellent vision and offensive instincts. Not a big player, Herbert needs to fill out but certainly shows some promise as one of the Capitals many good forward prospects. Rich Dillon

Fantasy Outlook: B-

With his speed and vision, Herbert shows some offensive potential. He’s several years away.
