Observations:
October 2012 – After jumping on to the scene during the Kings need for injury replacements, King was rewarded this summer not only with a Stanley Cup visit and all the adventures that accompany that accolade, but with a two year, one way pact with the silver shirts. King had a knack for scoring big goals as he earned one game winner in the regular season and two more in the playoffs while playing regular minutes. He still projects as a low line size guy, but it is good to see upside in his ability to produce just below half a point per game at the highest level. Due to the lockout, King has recently signed a lockout AHL contract with Manchester to keep fresh and developing his game this season. Jason Banks May, 2011 – Dwight King is big. King has good scoring instincts and plays a gritty, physical game. This power-forward has produced at a decent clip everywhere he has played and has posted five goals through 13 playoffs games with the Kings this year. King has no issue dropping the gloves and could see full-time minutes with LA next year.
Fantasy Outlook: C-
King’s fantasy value is boosted in roto-leagues with his ability to produce penalty minutes. King projects as a third or fourth liner with the ability to score a few goals.
