Observations:

January 2012

May 2013 - Since recalled in January from the Houston Aeros (AHL), Brodin appeared in 45 of Minnesota's 48 regular season games in 2013. He went on to record his first 11 career NHL points (two goals, nine assists), appearing in all five postseason games against the Chicago Blackhawks. Despite entering his rookie campaign, Brodin was handed a significant role down the stretch and into the postseason for the Wild. Often playing along side Norris Trophy candidate Ryan Suter, he saw his minutes per game climb exceedingly as apart of the teams top defensive pairing. Clayton Bailey

May 2013 - At age 19, Brodin enters his first offseason in the NHL with two remaining years on his entry level contract. In preparation for 2014, he'll look to build to his overall game as a steady puck moving defenseman, while improving his physical presence in the defensive zone. After recovering from broken clavicle, Brodin played one AHL game on January 23. He was held without a point or a shot on goal. Despite this, the Wild recalled him to the big club, figuring he has shaken off enough rust. The lack of rehab games at the AHL level indicates Minnesota's eagerness to see him at the NHL level. - Dobber

December 2012 - Jonas Brodin has been sidelined with a broken clavicle and it appears that he will miss the 2013 World Junior Championships for Team Sweden. He was expected to be a vital part of Sweden's defensive core as the team defends its Gold Medal title.  The injury came as a result of a Taylor Hall hit in AHL action and the injury to Brodin has him stalled at two goals, four points, plus-2 through his first eight AHL games. Brendan Ross

July 2011 - Brodin plans to come to camp and do everything he can to make the team. He is close to NHL ready, so making the Wild would not come as a shock. - Dobber

April, 2011 - Brodin has finished his second pro season in the Elitserien  before he has turned 19. He is very good skater and plays very mature game in his own end.  He gives a good opening pass and has good puck-handling skills but he needs to improve his shot to be a fantasy worthy player. Brodin signed a three year entry level contract with Minnesota last summer. He is a candidate to represent Sweden in the 2012 World Championships. He will probably play at least one more season in Elitserien. Miika Arponen

Fantasy Outlook: B

He will certainly be a NHL defender in the near future, but his upside is quite modest at least for now.
