Philippe Paradis, LW

Born: 1991-1-2

Hometown: Normandin, Que.

Drafted: 2009 by Carolina Hurricanes, 27th Overall

February 2014 - Paradis turned 23-years-old last month and has played over 100 games in the American Hockey League. Despite not producing offensively, the former 1st round pick has been able to stick in the AHL thanks to his skating ability and willingness to abuse the opposition. Paradis plays strictly a bottom line role for Syracuse providing grit and toughness and shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar at this time. Randall Buschmann

April 2013 – Paradis has received somewhat of a second lease on life with a move to Tampa Bay. The outlook for him to become an NHL player is still very poor as the Lightning possess a wealth of high talent prospects that will see time in the sunshine state, but for Paradis he will get very good ice time to hone his craft in the AHL while playing a game very similar to what he did in Rockford. I don’t advise owning him or placing him on your ‘watch list’, but check back a couple times a year, just to see if he starts becoming a legit prospect. Jason Banks

December 2012 - The former 1st-rounder, currently suiting up for Toledo in the ECHL, is still looking for his first goal of the season. He played 15 games with Rockford before being sent down, but did amass 46 penalty minutes. Randy Buschmann

March 2012 – Paradis is an original first round draft pick by the ‘Canes back in 2009. He probably isn’t going to produce the high-end numbers of an early pick yet he will bring physical presence and some scoring skill. He possesses a strong shot and will probably pan out as a solid checking forward in the pro game. Paradis is currently in his rookie campaign in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs. Russ Bitely

Fantasy Outlook: D-

Paradis isn’t the most gifted offensive forward but may be a solid checker in the pros. Running out of time to reach the NHL.

Philippe Paradis scores a beauty of a goal in the QMJHL on 11/19/2010.
