Observations:
April 2013 - The Winnipeg Jets announced they have agreed to terms with defenseman Jacob Trouba on a new contract. Trouba played 27 games with the University of Michigan Wolverines recording 29 points (12-17-29) along with 88 penalty minutes. Trouba, originally avid on remaining for the entirety of his collegiate career, has since decided to turn pro. Trouba is coming off a fantastic season where he won gold with Team USA at the 2013 World Junior Championship as well as being named Best Offensive defenseman for the CCHA. Trouba is expected to join the Winnipeg Jets and he should be owned in all keeper formats. Brendan Ross December 2012 - Trouba was named as a captain for Team USA's World Junior team. Expect Trouba to see a lot of ice time in all situations as the Americans look to improve on last year's disappointing finish. Rich Dillon
December 2012 - Jacob Trouba was one of the 27 American players named to the USA preliminary roster for the upcoming 2013 World Junior Championships. Trouba is a lock to make the 2013 USA WJC team as one of a few returnees from last year's team. He is experiencing great success in his freshman collegiate season racking up four goals and 10 points through just 14 games for the University of Michigan. Brendan Ross October, 2012 - Trouba's collegiate career is off to a fine start, as he appears to have made a seamless transition to regular for Michigan. Trouba has racked up two goals and four assists in his first four games as a Wolverine and is already their power-play quarterback. Rich Dillon
June, 2012 - Kevin Cheveldayoff adds an extremely imposing defenseman in Jacob Trouba with their 9th overall pick. He's got the potential to become a minute munching defenseman with underrated offensive skills. Brendan Ross March, 2012 – Jacob Trouba is the top draft eligible prospect playing in the USHL this year. He is big, gritty and has shown a tendency to join the offensive rush. Trouba has committed to playing for the Michigan Wolverines next season, but the Kitchener Rangers hold his OHL rights and he could opt to play there instead. Wherever he ends up, he’ll spend the next couple seasons further developing his two-way game. John Canario
