July 2012 – Bonino will be expected to add some offensive punch in the NHL this season from the third line after signing a new two year, one-way contract. Bonino plays a very smart game and has good upside depending on linemates. He also very effective at not costing his teams penalties, in NCAA and AHL he was penalized an average of once every four games, in the NHL that rate has been once every 10 games but that is likely to rise as he gets more involved in games and plays bigger, tougher minutes. March 2012 - Bonino has an overall sound game with great vision and stick handling ability. His time in the AHL has been pretty impressive as well as displaying the numbers to back it up in the 1-1/2 years in Syracuse. He is a college hockey product out of Boston University (Hockey East). Bonino last call-up was in December 2011 to the Ducks and with his hockey sense and creativity he might just be sticking around for good in Cali.
Fantasy Outlook: C+
Bonino has vision and the skill set - looks to be almost graduated to the NHL full-time.

2009 Fantasy Prospects Report:
It's not often you'll see the San Jose Sharks make a mistake when it comes to American prospects, but they may have made a big one at the 2009 Trade Deadline. Whether he asked for a trade or the Sharks dealt him willingly, trading NCAA product Nick Bonino to the Ducks for Travis Moen could burn them long-term. A sixth round draft choice in 2007, while Bonino was largely overshadowed by linemate and Hobey Baker nominee Colin Wilson, he finished with a team second-best 16 goals and 44 points. During the annual Beanpot Hockey Tournament, the 20-year-old led BU to the championship and was named MVP. Still two years away.
