Observations:

February 2013 - Ouellet has maintained  a strong level of play this year with eight goals and 34 points in 38 games for Blainville-Boisbriand. Eric Daoust

December, 2012- Ouelett was named to the final Team Canada roster. A strong camp has thrust Ouelett into the top six for the tournament in Ufa. Rich Dillon

December 2012 - Ouellet was one of 12 defensemen invited to take part in Canada's National Junior Selection camp for the 2013 World Junior Championships in Ufa, Russia. By no means is Xavier Ouellet a lock to make the Canadian roster but his strong showing during the Subway Super Series and during the Canada-Russia Challenge certainly boosts his case. Brendan Ross

November 2012 - Xavier Ouellet was brilliant for Team QMJHL in the 2012 SUBWAY Super Series earning Player of the Game honours in game 1 scoring one goal and an assist in the loss.  Ouellet looked really comfortable running the powerplay and moving the puck up the ice.  His potential as a top-four defenseman remains strong as he possesses admirable solid two-way qualities. Ouellet added an assist in Game 2 to finish the Super Series with one goal and three points.  Brendan Ross

March, 2012 – One of the most underrated defenseman from the 2011 draft class, Ouellet has excelled in a leadership role with Blainville-Boisbriand this year. He has set new career highs in almost every statistical category and helped his young team surprise some people this year. He has a terrific first pass and rushes the puck with ease. He has a fluid skating stride and is becoming one of the best defenseman in the league. Detroit has a reputation of developing prospects very slowly and will most likely return him to the QMJHL next year.  Derek LeBlanc

Modest upside. Detroit does not rush their prospects so don’t expect to see him for a while.
