December, 2012 - Currently in the middle of his rookie pro season, Saad's performance at Rockford has been up-and down. He has 11 points in 21 games and has shown enough for the 'Hawks to remain excited about his potential.
February 2012 – Brandon Saad has dominated the competition this season playing for the Saginaw Spirit. He has an astounding 1.77 points per game average and would no doubt be leading the league in scoring had he not missed a month due to injury, and another few weeks playing for Team USA at the World Juniors - to say nothing of making the Chicago Blackhawks to start the season. Saad is a strong player at both ends of the ice, and physically is NHL ready. Saad has surprised many with his offensive production this season and is looking like a steal for the Blackhawks.
Fantasy Outlook: A-
If Saad can land a top six role on a deep Blackhawk lineup, he could be a surprise contender for the Calder next season.
