Observations:

October 2012 - Alexander Khokhlachev was named to the 2012 Subway Super Series Team OHL Russia Roster slated to compete in a six-game series versus all-star teams from the Canadian Hockey League in November. Brendan Ross

July 2012 – ‘KoKo’ has recently signed his three year entry-level contract with Boston. He has also recently signed with Spartak Moskva of the KHL. Look at this as a positive move to Russia, he was destine to return to junior as he is not of age to turn pro in the AHL and would not crack the Bruins roster. Playing for Spartak he will be playing with grown men, develop a stronger game and be fed information from former NHL prospects Branko Radjivojevic, Stefan Ruzicka and Shoan Morrison. Jason Banks

February, 2012 –The Windsor Spitfires stole Alexander Khokhlachev as he fell to 23rd overall in the 2010 CHL Import Draft due to the uncertainty of whether he would report to North America.  The undersized shifty Khokhlachev slipped to the Boston Bruins at 40th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft as well and he is showing to become a very valuable pick.  “Ko-Ko” as he has been dubbed has adapted extremely well to the North American game notching 76 points as a rookie and added another 20 playoff points in just 18 playoff contests.  Khokhlachev is a great skater with imposing speed and with his slick surgeon-like stickhandling skills he is incredibly difficult to contain one-on-one.  The Windsor Spitfires leading scoring displays good defensive instincts as well often earning valuable penalty kill ice time as well.  The dynamic Khokhlachev is a passionate player who does not shy away from contact and goes to all areas of the rink to score or setup his teammates.

Fantasy Outlook:   B+

Despite being small in stature, Khokhlachev is a player that projects to have a bright NHL future as a top six forward.  Fantasy owners will be drawn to this dynamic skilled forward as he refines his offensive traits and develops as another promising Bruins’ prospect. Brendan Ross
