January 2014 - The OHL's leading defensive scorer (by a large margin with 57 points through 37 games, 17 points clear of the next best), Anthony DeAngelo participated in the 2014 CHL/NHL Top Prospects game picking up an assist in Team Cherry's loss. The highly skilled blue liner was also ranked 26th on TSN's Bob McKenzie's 2014 NHL Draft Mid-Term Rankings. Brendan Ross

October 2013 - Known for his free-wheeling style of hockey, Tony DeAngelo appears to be maturing as a defender showing an improvement in his ability to jump into the rush. This more responsible style of hockey will sit much better with NHL scouts as he performs throughout his draft year. DeAngelo is one of the few OHL defensemen who has the ability to rush the puck end to end with ease and his defensive leading 10 points in eight games this season is a testament to that rare skill set. Brendan Ross

August 2013 – After finishing his sophomore season third in defensive OHL scoring with nine goals and 58 points as a 17-year-old (trailing only NHL-drafted prospects Ryan Sproul and Cody Ceci), Anthony DeAngelo will be looked at to carry Sarnia’s offence from the blue line. DeAngelo is a hungry and aggressive undersized offensive defenseman who salivates when the puck is on his stick and his confidence in possession is off-the-charts as he dangles up the ice. Unfortunately, the toe-drags and high risk maneuvers occur too often and in ill-advised areas of the ice, leading to costly turnovers and offensive chances for the opposition. He will need to pick his spots better and manage his hot-tempered personality, all while improving his defensive game, in order to hold onto a first round ranking for the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. DeAngelo will contend for the OHL defensive scoring title. Brendan Ross
