Observations:

September 2013 - Abeltshauser scored a goal in a prospects game versus the Vancouver Canucks prospects.  He received a great pass from Tomas Hertl and snuck the shot in the net (we may hear this often in a couple seasons or so).  Tim Graveline

April 2013 - Konrad showed some great intangible qualities this season and the QMJHL recognized his hard work honouring him with the Humanitarian and Community Involvement Trophy.  In 57 games for Halifax this season, Konrad tallied seven goals and 54 points from the blueline as the teams top scoring defenseman. Brendan Ross

January 2013- The 20 year old defenseman recently returned from an injury that sidelined him for over a month. He has five points in eight games since his return. Derek LeBlanc

November 2012- The Sharks prospect continues to prove he’s one of the top defenseman in the league. He is tied for the league lead in scoring for defenseman and has only been held off the score sheet seven times this season. – Derek LeBlanc

October 2012- The overager is having a good start to his season with five points in five games. He’s tied for fourth in league scoring for defenseman. He will be one of the veterans on a very talented team who should be one of the top teams in the league.

July 2012- Initially it was thought he would spend the year in the AHL, but the Sharks thought it would be best for his development to return to the QMJHL.

April, 2012- Abeltshauser finished the season as Halifax’s top defenseman. The big lanky German had eight goals and 36 assists in 59 games for the Mooseheads. His team is on the brink of elimination, but he is having a decent playoffs with six points in six games. He plays in all situations and has developed into a solid two-way defenseman. The Sharks recently inked him to a three-year entry-level deal and he should start in the AHL next season.

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Has the size and strength for the next level but don’t expect a ton of points.
