Observations:

February 2014 - After being selected in the seventh round in last summers NHL entry draft, this year, Burroughs looked to improve on an impressive sophomore season with the Regina Pats. Entering the home stretch of the 2013-14 season, he seems to have done just that. The Pats' captain has surpassed his 33 points in 70 games from a year ago with 36 points in 50 games thus far, and still has 12 games to go on the schedule. He is also currently a plus-9 on the year. After missing the playoffs last year, the first place Pats will look to make some noise this post season and Burroughs will pick up experience in pressure situations. Brad Wilson

Fantasy Outlook: D+

The Isles are up to their eyebrows in Defense prospects but considering the 18-year-old offensive defenseman is still looking at another year of junior and then likely some time in Bridgeport, he could be right on pace to challenge for an NHL job when he is ready. Burroughs has a good first pass and moves the puck well. He also has some grit in his 5'11" frame. After falling two rounds from his projected draft ranking, he may be a diamond in the rough given time to develop properly.
