Observations:

February 2014 - Clapperton has come back down to earth. Since the new year he has just 11 points in 15 games, compared to 31 in his first 18 games. His season total is 45 points in 39 games. Nathan Kanter

December 2013 - Clapperton is still going strong for the Armada and has 33 points in 22 games. He hasn't played since Nov 22nd and if it weren't for the missed games he would likely be top-10 in QMJHL scoring. Nathan Kanter

October 2013 - Clapperton, a fifth-round pick by the Panthers at the 2013 NHL Draft, has burst onto everyone’s radar for the Armada this year and leads the QMJHL in scoring with 20 points in just eight games. He was named the third star of the month for September after collecting 14 points in his first six games and since then has added another six points in two October games (also earning him third star of the week honours). Last season he had a productive season with 77 points, including 34 goals, in 67 games and followed it up with 20 points in 15 playoff games. That improved upon his 55-point rookie campaign for the Armada, which resulted in him being passed over at the 2012 NHL entry draft. Clapperton doesn’t have ideal size, but is creative with the puck and has good vision. He doesn’t play on a star studded lineup so he's been the main reason his team is off to an 8-0-0 start. Clapperton also provides decent PIM totals. Nathan Kanter

Fantasy Outlook: C

Clapperton is currently in his last year of junior so don’t take his impressive totals and assume he’s a gem. He has skill to be a top-six forward but remember too Florida’s system is packed with young talent up front so he’ll have lots of competition.
