Jeremy Morin, RW

Shoots: R

Height: 6-1

Weight: 189

Born: 1991-4-16

Hometown: Auburn, NY

Drafted: 2009 2nd round 45th overall – Atlanta Thrashers

March 2014 - Jeremy Morin was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Month earning a point in all 11 contests in the month of February. The point-per-game AHLer notched nine goals and 18 points in 11 games helping the Rockford IceHogs to an unbeaten 9-0-1-1 record. Morin is very close to making the full-time jump to the Chicago Blackhawks and should be owned in most keeper formats. Brendan Ross

June 2013- Morin turned in his best pro season as he finished third on the Icehogs in points with 58. The 58 points represented a healthy 18 point jump from the previous season. He still racked up 86 PIM, but the decrease there from his high of 121 shows he's learning to play more disciplined hockey, but without abandoning his physical style. Depending on how the 'Hawks go about creating space under the new, lower, salary cap, the door may be opened a bit for guys like Morin to make the roster next season. That said, it's still most likely that Morin plays the majority of the 2013-14 season in Rockford. Rex Doty

March 2012 – Morin was a highly touted American prospect coming out of the USNTDP and also the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers. He is a good stick handler with a decent shot, but his skating ability has caught up with him in his first two pro seasons. He definitely isn’t afraid to play the physical game and work the corners penalty minutes are outpacing the goal output in the AHL. Russ Bitely

Fantasy Outlook: B-

Morin possesses the goal-scoring touch but has yet to demonstrate consistently at the pro level. May play too rough a style to stay healthy long enough to develop top-line ability.

2009 Fantasy Prospects Report:

Scouting Report: Always known and coveted for his size and natural gifts around the net, Jeremy Morin likely saved his status as a top-45 pick with a strong World U18s. Despite leading the NTDP in goals, it was an up and down year for Morin as the program experienced a number of difficulties. Issues such as motivation, skating ability and the ability to keep it cool came to the fore during a cold streak in the second half. However, Morin put that all behind him with a star-making performance for Team USA. Morin finished tied for third in tournament goals (six), the same total top-10 pick Magnus Paajarvi potted. There's no denying the big man's terrific skill and willingness to agitate opponents; his skating has also improved, a huge plus.

Notable Numbers: Despite scoring 13 goals on the man-advantage, Morin still led the NTDP in even-strength goals (20).

Potential: Corey Perry, 30-40-70, 100 PIM

Years Away: 3-4
