June 2015 – Carrier had a very tough first year with the Rochester Americans, a good reason is he was the youngest player to lace them up for the Amerks this year. I’m sure Carrier wouldn’t use that as an excuse and will want to try to show the Buffalo brass that he is a key piece of the Ryan Miller trade and not just a throw in prospect. He is one of the few left wingers with upside in the Buffalo prospect pool. Carrier finished with 21 points in 63 games played. A couple more seasons of adjusting to the professional game will help Carrier in the long term, Buffalo will have to have patience with Carrier if they hope for him to suit up for the Sabres in the future. The Sabres have the time to teach Carrier the professional game with Kane, Moulson and Foligno as their top left wingers. Still two to three years away, projected to be a two way winger in the bottom six of the lineup. Paul Zwambag

March 2014 - Carrier has been traded to the Buffalo Sabres as part of a package including Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart and potentially two first round picks for the Sabres long time star netminder Ryan Miller and pesky captain Steve Ott. The trade comes after weeks of speculation as to where Miller would land with St. Louis all along the probable landing spot. For Carrier this is the second time in the past two months he has been traded after already being dealt at the QMJHL deadline from Cape Breton to Drummondville. Carrier has just started heating up for Drummondville notching eight points in his past six games after going scoreless through five previous to that. So it seems that Carrier is starting to get comfortable at just the right time for his new team as they look to get hot and ride some momentum as they head into the playoffs. Carrier is just the first of likely many prospects to join the Sabres prospect system as they look blow things up into a full rebuild mode. If this trade is any indication it looks like Tim Murray was the right guy for the job. Time will tell. Travis Watson

September 2013 - Carrier will begin the 2013-14 campaign with Cape Breton of the QMJHL. Eric Daoust

August 2013 - Carrier signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Blues. Eric Daoust

July 2013 - Carrier was selected by St. Louis in the second round (57th overall). The Blues have a lot of depth up front at the NHL level so he will likely be given a few years to develop. Eric Daoust

December 2012 – Carrier is a power forward who will go through you if he cannot get around you. He has a long reach and uses it effectively to protect the puck. He plays a simple game and is not afraid to go to the net. Carrier has improved every year and has Hockey Canada pedigree. He’s been the main offensive option on a weak Cape Breton team and currently sits tied for 20th in QMJHL scoring. He is projected as a late first or early second round pick in the upcoming NHL Entry Draft. Brendan Ross

Fantasy Outlook: C

He has the size and determination for the next level, but the jury is still out on whether he will have an offensive impact. Poor man’s Erik Cole.
